REPORT 2007 Tasks realised in 2007 by the Research Department involved mainly studies of publications of the Institute and participation of the personnel in scientific meetings connected with John Paul II teachings. 1. ELABORATION OF THE SUBSEQUENT PARTS OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM Work performed on the program included, among others: preparation of moral, ethical and theological context of the Educational Program, selection of quotations from the Holy Bible connected with the respective values of the Program, documents of the II Vatican Council, The Catholic Church Catechism, social teaching of the Church, John Paul II teachings and selected sections from theology, psychology and pedagogies. In addition, a detailed bibliography was compiled. The Research personnel co-operated with the Publishing Department during the editorial amendment of the work. 2. CONSULTATIONS REGARDING SUBJECTS CREATING THE BASIS FOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 3. IV WORLD FAMILY CONGRESS " FAMILY AS SPRING FOR EUROPE AND THE WORLD", WARSAW 11-13.05.2007 4. SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE: "JOHN PAUL II TEACHING VERSUS MODERN PEDAGOGIC AXIOLOGY" ORGANISED BY THE BOGDAN JASINSKI COLLEGE, WARSAW, 9.06.2007 5. ELABORATION OF PUBLICATION DEDICATED TO HISTORY AND MAGNITUDE OF IMPORTANCE OF NATIONAL SHRINE OF GOD'S PROVIDENCE IN WARSAW The Department personnel undertook work aiming at collection and elaboration of topic bibliography connected to the National Shrine of God's Providence. The analysis of the concept of the word "providence" was also the scope of the work. 6. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM SURVEY Foundations of the survey are being prepared by teachers and pedagogues, who aim at setting the conditions for execution of the Program in schools. 7. PREPARATION OF THE PUBLICATION OF PHILOSOPHICAL ANTHROPOLOGY AS THE FOUNDATION FOR THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM The prepared publication explains choice and meaning of values presented in the Educational Program. The Papal pedagogic faith encircles upbringing in relation to the external world, the other person and oneself. The appropriate directions of this upbringing are shown in the light of goals and tasks to which each relation should be aiming at. In the same type of upbringing there will be different achievable tasks for a pupil, a family or the school. 8. JOHN PAUL II VALUES DICTIONARY Work on the elaboration of a dictionary of John Paul II values has started to set grounds for the correct understanding of the Educational Program (civilisation of love, offering from oneself , communion, community, human dignity, civilisation of death, consumption and utilitarianism, cult of human body etc.) 9. "JOHN PAUL II FACE TO FACE WITH HUMAN SLAVERY" The Research Department in co-operation with The House of Meetings with History prepared a range of events, presenting Karol Wojtyła teachings in the aspect of a battle against present-day forms of human slavery: totalitarianism, nazism, communism, and also economical exploitation and signs of civilisation of death in democratic countries. The first meeting is planned for January 2008. 10. RESEARCH PERSONNEL COLLECTION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES LATER USED IN THE WORK COMMISSIONED TO THEM IN THE INSTITUTE. REPORT 2006 Research Department organizes the scientific background for educational and editorial activity of the Institute. The Department uses the experiences of its members gathered during their postgraduate studies in theology, journalism and pedagogy. It also uses the experiences gathered during the elaboration of a teacher's book for teachers of religion at secondary level under the auspices of Father dr Henryk Małecki, research at the Papal Theology Department in Warsaw, work with the youth and lectures on psychology of social and interpersonal communication and cooperation with the Institute of Family Studies.
