REPORT 2007 In 2007 the Editorial Department of the Institute realised the following projects and publishing work connected with the realisation of the statute tasks of the Institute. 1. FATHER DR ZDZISŁAW STRUZIK, PROGRAM WYCHOWAWCZY OPARTY NA WARTOŚCIACH, PARTS I-III, WARSAW -WILANÓW 2007. The book is addressed to high school students, their parents and high school teachers. The aim of the publication is to propose an educational and upbringing method based on values coming from the teachings of John Paul II . The program is to show a young person the true sense of human life and teach behavior complying with norms adopted in Christian and European culture. The first part of the book is aimed at the first year pupils and it presents the relation " myself - society" and it is to help them to mould themselves into this goodwill attitude towards others. The second part is based on the relation "myself - you". The aim of this part is pointing at morally good attitudes towards the other person. The third part of the book describes the relation "myself - myself" and addresses proper recognition of ones value, self-improvement and building ones own personality. 2. NARZECZEŃSTWO JAKO PRZYGOTOWANIE DO MAŁŻEŃSTWA, EDITOR FATHER DR ZDZISŁAW STRUZIK, WARSAW -WILANÓW 2007. The publication is aimed at fiances. It contains information, among others, fragments of Church documents helpful for leading meetings. It includes preparation for different stages of married life, it is striving to bring forward the subject of love, the role of the family and respect for human life. 3. BARDOWIE JANA PAWŁA WIELKIEGO.MŁODZI POECI O PONTYFIKACIE JANA PAWŁA II, WARSAW 2007. The book is a collection of works sent in by students of Junior High schools carrying the name of John Paul II who took part in the competition organised by the Institute. Its aim was to write a ballad relating to the life and work of the Polish Pope. 4. "Z WIARĄ WIAR". RODACY WOBEC ŚMIERCI JANA PAWŁA II. MODLITWY, WIERSZE, DIARIUSZE, MEDYTACJE, WARSAW -WILANÓW 2007. The publication is a collection of works sent in by an appeal from the Institute on 2 April 2005. The book is a testimony to the memory of The Holy Father. The writings collected arose from the spiritual experiences connected with the death of John Paul II. As a result of the appeal several hundred works arrived. A selected number of pieces were edited. On 3 November the Institute organised the promotion of the book, which took place in the White Hall of the Wilanowski Palace in Warsaw. The ceremony was led by the Metropolitan of Warsaw Archbishop Kazimierz Nycz. Chosen works were presented by Anna Seniuk and Krzysztof Banaszyk. 5. JAN PAWEŁ II STRAŻNICY PORANKA. ĆWICZENIA DUCHOWE DLA MŁODYCH Z JANEM PAWŁEM II WEDŁUG ANTONIO IZQUIERDO, EDITOR S.KAWECKI, WARSAW- WILANÓW, 2007. The book contains a selection of John Paul II fragments of homilies and Papal documents in which John Paul II addressed young people. The book is a translation of the Italian edition by Antonio Izquierdo 6. FATHER DR WOJCIECH KLUJ, TEOLOGIA MISYJNA JANA PAWŁA II, WARSAW- WILANÓW, 2007. The book is an essay of John Paul II mission theology included, among others, in encyclicals, teachings, pastoral letters. The author reaches to the fundamental topics of the Christian Religion and underlies a link between the Pope's teaching and newly arising problems. The detailed notes, appendixes, and very wide bibliography are a very important part of the book helping the reader embark on ones own reflection over the mentioned subjects. 7. FATHER PROF. IRENEUSZ MROCZKOWSKI, OSOBA I CIELESNOŚĆ. MORALNE ASPEKTY TEOLOGII CIAŁA, WARSAW - WILANÓW, 2007. The second updated edition of the book is prepared to be printed. The book addresses the physical aspects of a human in the light of the Pope's teachings. The publication has been supplemented - replenished with the author preface, index and the abstract in English. 8. STEFAN CARDINAL WYSZYŃSKI, DZIEŁA ZEBRANE, VOLUME VI, WARSAW, 2007. The editorial project conducted in co-operation with the Institute of Primate Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński. The aim of the publication is the documentation of teachings and spiritual aspects of a person who, significantly shaped the spiritual attitude and personality of Karol Wojtyla, the future Pope. The VI volume includes speeches, statements and publications of the Primate from 1960. 9. ANNA ZYSKOWSKA, POLSKI SAMOCHÓD DLA JANA PAWŁA II The Editorial Department compiled editorial materials for the second edition of Anna Zyskowska's book. The publication documents the origin and fate of the Papal car, which the Holy Father travelled in during his first pilgrimage to his homeland in 1979. The editorial work has been undertaken in co-operation with the Jan Pazdura Museum of Nature and Technology in Starachowice, where work is being carried out to reconstruct the Papal car. The aim of these joint activities is to join the publication of the book with the presentation of the car as well as further promotion. Predicted completion date of the work - summer 2008. 10. SUBJECT BIBLIOGRAPHIES OF POLISH PUBLICATIONS ON THE SOCIAL TEACHINGS OF JOHN PAUL II IN THE YEARS 1978 - 2006, COMPILED AND EDITED BY DR. M. MIKOŁAJCZYK The Institute Editorial Department is preparing an extensive bibliography covering publications relating to the social teachings of Pope John Paul II. The book is being compiled by employees of the University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. It will appear in three volumes covering the years: 1978-1988, 1989-1998, 1999-2005. The predicted publication date - May 2008. 11. PUBLICATION DOCUMENTING FIVE JOHN PAUL II PILGRIMAGES TO MEXICO. In June 2007 employees of the Institute travelled to Mexico. The aim was to collect documentary materials relating to the five successive pilgrimages by the Holy father to this country. The collected material will be compiled and used in the publication of the book dedicated to the apostolic travels of John Paul II to Latin America. 12. BROCHURES, LEAFLETS AND POSTERS RELATING TO FESTIVITIES ORGANIZED BY THE INSTITUTE. The Editorial Department compiles and produces a wide range of promotional and informational materials relating with the functioning of the Institute. It is the organiser or co-organiser of many festivities relating to Papal anniversaries. It co-operates with external institutions in the scope of common cultural activities.
